Praht Thai Creative Thinking

Creative Thinking

  • Aims and Objectives
    • Creative Thinking prepares children to take part in the development of tomorrow’s rapidly changing world. Creative thinking encourages children to make positive changes to their quality of life. The subject encourages children to become autonomous and creative problem-solvers, both as individuals and as part of a team. It enables them to identify needs and opportunities and to respond by developing ideas for creating  making products and systems. Through understanding and developing their creative thinking abilities, students will be better equipped for the modern changing world they face . They will be able to more readily identify and find solutions to problems and challenges they encounter.  Creative Thinking helps all children to become discriminating and problem solvers, informed consumers and potential innovators.

    • The objectives of teaching Creative Thinking in our school are:
  • to encourage and build in children an interest in questioning and not being afraid to ask in the pursuit of knowledge;
  • To show our students how to ‘think outside the square’ and enjoy the benefits it brings;
  • to develop imaginative thinking in children and to enable them to talk about what they like and dislike when designing and making things and coming up with new innovative ideas;
  •  to instil and develop processes to help students identify problems and solve those problems creatively;
  • to enable children to talk about how things work and to draw and model their ideas;
  • to encourage children to select appropriate tools and techniques for innovating and then making a product, whilst following safe procedures;
  • to develop an understanding of technological processes and products, their manufacture and their contribution to our society;
  • to foster enjoyment, satisfaction and purpose in creating, designing and making things.;
  • To become innovators through mastering the processes of innovation and the creativity paradigms.
  •  Teaching and Learning Style
    • Creative Thinking teaching focuses on enabling children to think outside the square. We place an emphasis on examining issues and problems and looking at things from different perspectives;
    • Children will learn through individual and group activity;
    • We will teach students the techniques of combining structured thinking with free thinking principles to provide new and exciting results;
    • Our focus centres on aspects that include Innovation, Creative Thinking Processes, Brainstorming, Evaluation, Questioning and Reasoning;
    • Visual, oral and physical stimulus in classes will provide an opportunity for a more complete sensory involvement in the learning process as well as add to the overall enjoyment of the classes;
    •  In each grade area we give children the opportunity to challenge their minds at all levels with simple to complex problem solving.

Creative Thinking enables the Praht Thai student to enhance their education impact through school as well as go on to become the innovators of tomorrow.
